Our Founder's Story

Growing up in an abusive home with an alcoholic father was a traumatic experience that left deep emotional scars. Coping with the aftermath of those events was difficult and Kristi knew she needed to find healing. As an adult, she began her journey of seeking the necessary help to overcome the damage inflicted during her childhood. Being a victim to physical, mental and sexual abuse comes along with severe symptoms. Songwriting and music became invaluable in her healing process and remains a constant for her today. However, when Kristi discovered horses her life was truly transformed. She recognized that horses could help with anxiety reduction, trust-building, confidence, self-awareness and the development of life skills that she lacked during her youth. It was then that a new purpose emerged - to help children who had gone through similar traumas

Kristi's passion for helping children cope with emotional and mental pain led her to pursue certifications as an equine specialist through PATH, (The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) and Stable Moments. With these credentials, she facilitates equine assisted learning and collaborates with licensed mental health therapists, providing equine psychotherapy to those most in need. This was the foundation for her lifelong dream of establishing Harmony Hope Stables. Since building the ranch, Kristi along with her team of professionals, have helped over 500 children, teenagers, and families dealing with a myriad of symptoms. Today, Harmony Hope Stables has become a safe haven for youth and adults in the community in need of comfort, hope and healing. It stands as a beacon of light where individuals can restore harmony into their lives. In 2021, Kristi faced another significant challenge when five of her loved ones passed away in just eight months. Although the news was tragic, Kristi did not allow it to spiral into depression with no return. Instead, she turned to her passion for music, horses and Jesus to find healing. Kristi also learned the importance of self-care and began attending sound healing sessions, yoga, and reiki healing circles. Standing strong today as a survivor and wanting to share these type of healing services with more people. Kristi is committed to Harmony Hope Stables and has expanded the ranch's services to include 2 hour mini retreats, half-day and full day retreats for teens and even adults. These services include heart-focused breathing with horses, mindful aromatherapy grooming, nature goat walks, equine meditation and even reiki with the horses. Retreats can also feature other professional services such as sound healing, yoga and nutritious meals. Join us to experience the healing power of our programs!
